Hi! I was diagnosed with Acute Pancreatis last January.

I'm wondering if anyone else has had similar symptoms to mine as I'm not convinced by my doctor''s explanations. I still get pain very much to my right side so much so that my GP suspected colon cancer rather than pancreatis being the cause of the pain. This has been ruled out now due to a colonoscopy. The point is the pain is very much to my side and not in the area of the pancreas. So, I did have acute pancreatis without doubt but the area of my continuing pain is lateral and not in the area of the pancreas hi has is causing the confusion. I would be intersex to hear if this is normal or not? Many thanks, Pete.

I've had the same thing. Though 4 episodes since November. No cancer, however they removed a perfectly good gallbladder to rule it out.

My numbers didn't show high except the last 2 times.

Have the done a ct or mail?

How about endoscopy.?

Hope you get it figured out soon. Ask to see a g.i. Dr that specializes in pancreas problems as well. You might have multiple things going on.

HI Pete, sorry you're still having issues.  I don't know if it's normal or not, I get an ache more than pain but it's just below and a little above my left ribcage, and I'm very sensitive to touch in that area.

I don't have any ideas for you unfortunately but I hope you get to the bottom of it soon.  regards Reef

Sounds very much like mine. Do you have a dilated pancreatic duct as well?

Just make sure you stay on top of it!

Be your own advocate. I had to learn that after they removed my gallery bladder.

Please let me know how you do.

I see my pancreas specialist at the end of the month so will probably have more tests then.  Nothing mentioned about duct only calcifications when I was diagnosed nearly a year ago.

Thank you for your interest I really don't know what to expect and tend to accept every symptom that comes along as par for the course.  I'm having more symptoms lately so it's good that I'll see my doctor soon.

I will report back.  thanks idaholt
