if its not painful, itchy or breaking down to a blister then there are no symptoms of herpes.
having unprotected oral sex and sex increases your risk of stis/stds just like herpes. the majority of people who have it never have symptoms.
most std checks dont test for herpes. like 80% of people with genital never have a outbreak! even if he has one oral cold sore in his life he could pass it! so just because there is nothing there doesnt be you or him doesnt have it and its just lying dormant!
having an sti doesnt make you dirty or not clean either!
