Yes!!! I had this so bad. I used to be very flexible and after my surgery, once I was healing up nicely, I noticed this pain. It was as if I needed to pop my hip, but I couldn't do it because I couldn't bend my knees and plop them over. Not sure if that makes sense, but it's how I would pop my hip in the past. I was worried my hips were going, so I went to see a an orthodepic doctor and had x-rays, which confirmed my hips were fine. Grrr. I worked on sitting with the palms of my feet together, and knees out, lowering as much as possible - which wasnt much. It hurt, so I'd put pillows under my knees and just rest there. The pain is drastically reduced and not so noticable today. I'm about 21 months post op. Good luck, Alan.

You describe what I have going on exactly! I had first TKR July 1st last year. Had 2nd knee done 12 weeks ago. Just recently I have got this pain in the front of my hip when I go from sitting to standing just like you! It feels like I am about to get raging cramp for some seconds and it is sometimes yell out loud painful. It does walk off though.
Hello tracy
i dont know why this pain has started its almost a year since the surgery its still not that comfortable around the joint when walking im a bit worried that my hip may be becomeing arthritic i was wondering if something was out of line with the replacement i still do all my physio exersizes im due to have other knee done at the end of the month i must admit the last surgery was not as i expected a big shock as you proberly know. im seeing the consultant before the next op ill let you know his comments as the pain you have seems very like mine
I don't know if you saw my comment or not. But this is the pain that I had and the exercise I described helped rid me of it. I highly recommend it.
Hi i cannot find the post you suggested i read can you discribe the exercise you thnk helps thanks
Sure, It's this: I worked on sitting (usually on my bed, because lets face it, getting up and down from the floor is it's own challenge) with the bottoms of my feet together, and knees out, lowering them as much as possible - which wasn't much. It hurt, so I'd put pillows under my knees and just rest there - it sorta looked like some modified yoga lotus position...very modified. But it's a good stretch for your hips. I had a bilateral TKR, and both hips really struggled, but especially the right one. X-rays had shown that my hips still looked great, so I knew I needed to figure something out.
The pain is drastically reduced and not so noticable today. I'm about 21 months post op.
Hi. I am 13 weeks po. I have a lot of soreness, pain, when standing. In my knees through my thighs to my hips. I knew eventually I would néed my other knee replaced, but now it really hurts, sometimes locking I did make it to the grocery pushing a cart. Walking around for about an hour. Paid for it. But, I do have pain getting up from a sitting position, especially if I sit too long, I was worried there was something wrong. I am overweight also
