Difficult to be brief.. some numbness tingling on left side of face, on/off since august. Had MRI that showed white spots (poss MS) lumber puncture and evoked.... both negative. Then about 6 weeks ago I developed optic neuritis, after 5 weeks improved, but now lost more sight in left eye in last week? Awaiting more tests, has anyone had a similiar experience?
Yes, my situation 14 years ago, bit reversed, optic neuritis first, tripping, tingling. Negative LP and EP but positive MRI with white. I was put on Aubagio 12 years ago in the trial and have been doing very well since. I have more problems with physical problems undiagnosed because they were blamed on MS but in fact were something else entirely. I have found MS is usually the least of my troubles and it's a long haul disease so the more calm you are and aware of how it affects you the better off you will be. Good luck.
25% of lumbar punctures will be negative. Tingling face and optic neuritis is classic MS symptoms. Report this to your neurologist
Thankyou for your comments, it's a scarey process. It's reassuring to hear that medication has helped, that makes me feel more positive. I have a repeat EP soon, see what comes of that. Take care.
