Hello, my latest tests show TSH at 22 but T3 at 3.9 and t4 at 13. I have been hypo for years and doing fine on medication but then, over the last while very tired, hence the blood work.
When the tiredness started, the TSH was low/normal but it has spiked in the last month.
I will be seeing my endocrinologist next week but would appreciate any opinions from this forum.
Thanks!
I feel rubbish when my T4 is around 13. Very severe fatigue, swollen tongue and jaw clenching. You may be in the normal range but yoour body wants to be higher, hence sending out more TSH.
Thanks Evergreen. Can you say what medication you are on? Are you looking to change it?
I'm just on carbimazole at present. We're at the stage where we're trying to get the perfect maintenance dose for me. Not easy!
Evergreen, So carbamizole is used to treat hyperthyroid, correct? Is that what your doc is telling you?
My problem seems to be the opposite: hypothyroid. High TSH but "normal" t3 and T4.
Anyone else have thoughts?
My TSH is currently 4.8 so above normal. My T4 is 13. What I am saying is that I feel rubbish when my T4 is this low, so it may be that you need more levothyroxine (if you are on it) to bring your T4 a little bit higher.
