Hi I’m new to this and don’t really know where to start I suffer with serve anxiety and panic attacks and not been feeling great for a few weeks so went to doctors had blood tests done I have low iron and b12 also being tested for thyroid and being sent for a ultra sound scan there saying my thyroid is borderline just wondering if anyone else has had this and what to expect I’m worrying so much that it’s something else or worse then thyroid

I started with panic attacks in May of this year. Then I had tremors, weight loss, feeling very irritable, eating everything in sight, heart palpitations. Finally I had blood tests, and had an over active thyroid which is now being treated properly.

Don't worry, but make sure you get the proper blood tests, and don't be "fobbed off" if you're not happy.

Thankyou for your reply that’s how I started with tremors weight loss hair falling out dry skin I’ve had blood tests and at the moment there borderline after I have my ultra sound scan I’ll have to have more bloods done it’s awful how it makes you feel all my doctor say it’s anxiety and then when I had the tests done she said maybe it is thyroid I feel like they don’t listen half the time so I’m glad I pushed her to get me a scan I haven’t had appointment through yet so waiting for that it’s making me anxious x

Yes, it does make you feel awful, I was so hyper, everyone thought I was on speed !! Hopefully the blood tests will show an over active thyroid cause you've got exactly the same symptoms as I had. Even though I had a goitre in my neck my consultant said I didn't need a scan as he could see  right away what the problem was.

I am now on Carbimazole which is a thyroid drug to bring my levels down which I hate taking but it seems to be working. I also take 20mg of Goji Berry juice per day to help with my eyes, and eat 2 brazil nuts per day which are a very rich source of selenium which will help with the thyroid.

I know it's scary, but keep on pushing for the appointments cause the sooner you get it sorted, the sooner you can start the treatment.

Thankyou i will try them I love nuts lol some days I feel ok then like today I’ve had terrible tremors well my doctor felt my neck on my right side and said I’ll send you for a scan so I’m guessing something didn’t feel right it’s scary not knowing as I’ve never been through this before I’m just glad I came on to this website and others have experienced the same

Is the lump at the front in the middle of your neck ? Only asking cause that's where mine is !! Are you having more thyroid blood tests as well ?

Mine seems to be more to the right not sure if it’s a lump or not but feels quite tender to touch some days I have trouble swolling x

I'm no doctor but that seems to more like a gland ??? xx

I do have a lump in the middle aswell now I’ve just felt there didn’t notice it before x

yeah, that sounds like your thyroid, mine was just the same.xx
