Hi I have been getting pain on the right side of my stomach it's uncomfortable all of the time and can't sleep on that side is it related to the condition? Does anyone else on here have the same? Ive had all the usual scans all clear the doctors don't seem to know and just say scan is clear thanks for your help in advance hope someone can shed any light on this it's getting me down.
Hi Ian,
I don't get pain in my stomache but in my chest and back. I too have had all the usual tests scans, bloodtests and nothing significant has been found apart from a small hiatus hernia(but this did not show up on my last endoscopy!) and 'some inflammation'. Are you taking any medication? and have you seen a gastroenterologist?
Best wishes,
Lynne
Hi lynne
Thanks for your reply I have got to the stage of going on the waiting list for the operation they are going to do a partial only attaching part of my stomach as my oesophagus is weak and there is a risk of it getting to tight I'm so unsure about the op hope it's the right thing to do. Maybe the pain I get is coming from the back I have to sleep on the left now it's to uncomfortable otherwise.
Ian
Hi Ian,
I have read/researched a lot about the op and have heard of lots of good results. To be free of meds and pain would be a huge relief.
I had a Ph manometry tests last March which showed my sphincter was too tight and no acid! - couldn't believe the result and I do wonder if I had not been off medication for long enough to give an accurate result.
Best wishes ,
Lynne
Hi Lynne
Sorry am a bit confused have you the operation in order to get off the meds? I'm on omerprazole 40g twice a day and ranitidine 300mg before bed I still constantly have acid and have to avoid so much food and drink.
Ian
Hi Ian,
It seems most are med free after the op.
I am taking Esomaprazole and domperidone daily and still have terrible chest and back pain. I have never had acid or regurgitation but often have a sour taste in my mouth. I too avoid so much food and drink but sometimes it doesn't seem to make any difference what I eat 2 hours afterwards I feel awful. Just sick and tired of it all! I have another appointment in March with a surgeon and my GP has suggested I pursuade him to let me have the PH manometry test again.
Best wishes,
Lynne
Hi lynne
I hope you get sorted thanks again, I know what you mean I get my symptoms whatever I eat I think stress has a lot to do with it the more I get fedup and annoyed the worse it becomes just hope the operation is a good decision.
Ian

Roxanne that's terrible I hope your new surgeon gets to the bottom of your issue's I know it's terrible how doctors don't listen I've had all the scans they know about the hernia but as for the pain they just say scans clear it can't be anything but we know our own bodies and you don't get pain for no reason.
Good luck Roxanne let me know how you get on.
Ian
Hi Roxanne,
Keep on fighting! and I hope your new surgeon can help.
Best wishes,
Lynne
