I recently had a HIDA scan 5 days ago no pain before or during but later on that evening started getting pain on my upper right side and some pain more by the lower right rib. I also get more burps after i eat and sometimes not always but some slight nausea. I had an ultrasound before the test and it showed no gallstones the hida test results came back and showed 24% ejection fraction which is low.
my question is is my recent pain that won’t go away related to the HIDA scan. could it have done something? maybe a small stone could have been pushed into the bile duct when they gave me the ck. Will the pain subside when the inflammation goes away? I never had pain until the HIDA scan.
I am very worried, having trouble sleeping at night I also have Barrett’s esophagus so I’m worried if I take it out my acid reflux could get worse.
thank you
the hida scan exacerbated my pain as well, which i was warned about. But by that point i was in almost constant pain. Ended up with stronger pain relief until i got the gallbladder out a week or so later. Was made to drink a small fatty drink so think whatever was in that causes the pain
i had high temperature and felt really sick for days after hida, but the hospital told me that is not from Hida, not sure. As they injected you with fatty liquid that can trigger pain, I have dysfunctional gall bladder and sometimes it hurts for weeks and sometimes it is fine. My hida came back normal but i have non stop pain for 1.5 years and now waiting for mri:(
they are not taking mine out until i have bad blood test:(
i was also go for a scan on thursday because i keep on getting pain on the other side of my stomach and my gp dont no what it is also i get really bad back aches
