Had a HIDA scan a few months back and got horribly sick after that up all night on my stomach for a few weeks and then ended up having to call the ambulance one day because of stomach pain right side right shoulder pain. I've had HIDA scan in the past and did not cause that reaction and I'm convinced it over stimulated my gallbladder but in researching online I can't find anything about the CCK causing a reaction like mine. Has anyone had any experience with getting sick from the HIDA?
Yeah I was like that. Had already been in a lot of pain but whatever they inject you with or make you drink seemed to make it even worse. Almost as soon as I got the scan I was feeling worse. Ended up getting the gallbladder out as an emergency a couple of weeks later and the pain hadn’t settled at all in that time. Had cholecystitis and the scan had shown a low ejection fraction too xx
It took me months to get over having that HIDA scan. Will never have another one again 😕 I had pain for a couple of weeks and then ended up having to call the ambulance one day because the pain. For three weeks after that I couldn't eat any meat at all, I had to do vegan but with no nuts or seeds and lost weight too quickly . After that I added in chicken breast just a little bit at a time and now I'm finally on the mend and doing better- able to eat beef and a little bit more fat now. Still can't do any dairy. Gallbladder issues are really be horrible to have to deal with aren't they?
