My 19-year-old son just had his annual checkup, which showed elevated liver enzymes in his bloodwork. The doc ordered an ultrasound, which came back fine. She now wants him to see a GI doc. My son doesn't drink, has never used intravenous drugs, takes no medications. Very healthy. Any ideas as to what would cause the elevated liver numbers? and, why his ultrasound appeared fine?
Hi Kerry. I personally was diagnosed 4 /2 yrss ago with Hep C, and cirrhosis of the liver, I apparently got the hep c from a blood transfusion after my surgery in 1978, but since '92 they've screened for that. It could be he has a fatty liver, that can cause the enzymes to be elevated. I would goggle elevated liver enzymes..I would recommend him to start juicing the green drink, it's great! Best wishes and prayers for you both.

Hi Ace I am know as 2 colors. I am trying to fine healthy drinks that's good for my liver. May I ask what is juicing the green drink.
Strenuous exercise can briefly raise liver enzymes. If he is jogging, lifting weights or has a strenuous job this might be responsible for his elevations.
