High platelets

Hi

I went to the doctor a while ago because

My platelets where just above the ref range

Do you know if this is normal

My WBC's were also

Normal High, like 10.5

Hi courtnay26. Having high red and white blood count is not normal. The doctor shd refer you to a hematologist right away. The symptoms are the same as when I was sent to the hematologist and was diagnosed with Polycythemia Vera. Of course it does not mean this will be your diagnosis. However, the hematologist would be the best one to decide. Please ask your doctor for a referral. Hope you get diagnosed soon. Let us know the outcome. harrishill
