Hi Nicole66881,
I have hip displasia from birth as well I feel your pain. my first total hip replacement was in nov 1993 I never felt better I was only 26 at the time. fast forward working on my feet for 7hrs a day my back started hurting me so i went to orthopedic surgeon and he did bone scan which showed my hip was coming loose so I went ahead and had thr revision when i woke up from the revision my foot felt weird the surgeon said just give it time. when I tried to go back to work 6 months after the surgery i could hardly last 3 hours so i went back to my surgeon and he sent me to neurologist I had EMG test done which showed I have sciatic nerve damage from the surgical site, so ever since I’ve been on disability and unable to work. my next step is spinal cord stimulator if that doesn’t help I might need back surgery I just don’t want anymore surgeries. don’t give up i know the pain is horrible keep praying your in my prayers let me know how you are
God bless
Jackie
hi nicole
i have also been through similar , 2 phase hip surgery , pick line anti boitics to get rid of infection i had for 3 years after a hip revision , then next hip . In that time 2 dislocations after each one ! terrible pain i know so in total 4 . Then had further surgery to stop it coming out end of April i am now 6 months post op , been one hell of a year . The pain you descibe sounds similar to mine , i was told its the body adjusting to implant and muscles rebuilding . Dont lose hope you will get there just take your time and be careful will the rebuilding takes place . I am finally feeling like things may just be getting back to normal mentally and physically , one day at a time . Do check your crp and white blood cells because that would mean you may have a infection , get that ruled out first .
I am 53 but have had 6 hip surgeries since the age of 43
all the best
