4 years after hip replacement I have extreme pain in my upper leg glute and ham string. I had a tendon release surgery after the fact. Still no help. Any thoughts?
Hi Vincent,
I'm only 7 mos. pos op but I have that same pain, it sounds like, in my right glute. No hamstring pain though. Last week the dr. said it most likely was scar tissue. I can try deep tissue message to break it up. Sometimes it's a success and sometimes it isn't. Might be worth a try. I'm going to if it doesn't stop soon. Hope you find something. Four years is a long time to suffer. Best of luck!
Hi Vincent
I am having deep tendon/nerve/tissue massages. It has been like going to the torture chamber because at the time it is so painful but after 6 sessions I am so much better. I am now getting ready to go to the heated pool for physio exercises which I do my self, and the spa for additional support.
Heated beads are also a help. I guess everyone is different but I wish you well. It is so paiful.
hi vincent,
so sorry to hear this ... has this pain been there for 4 years and was the purpose of tendon release surgery to relief this pain?
did your doctor tell you what it could be?
extreme pain is never a good sign ...
please let us know how you are getting on -
big warm hug

Hi Maree
I've had deep tissue massage which unfortunately didn't help me. I also tried Shockwave Therapy. The specialists now think I have Gluteal Tendinopathy caused by scar tissue which they think needs to be removed by Operation.
I do hope get it sorted.

Hello Vincent. So did your pain just start out of no where or you have been in pain for the past 4 years? Does the pain bother you when you walk, sit or stand or all the time? Is there any sensitivity in the skin? I I have either inflammation neuropathy or Meralgia paraesthetica. I have high sensitivity and discomfort in the front and side of thigh. I'm almost a year out. It didn't start right away. Maybe 4/5 months later. I had rhr back in July then 3 weeks 2 days later I'm having a total hip revision due to a dislocation. I've had injections into the cutaneous nerve by groin twice and in back. Very little relief as well as taking lyrica. I hope you get some answers and relief from your pain. It sux being in pain all the time!! God's blessings to you. Come back and let us know what you find out and how you are doing. Hugs đŸ¤—Linda
