Hip replacement and managing dog walks

Hi, thinking of having a hip replacement and I have two dogs that need walking. I will use dog walkers for a couple of weeks but wonder how I will manage with two sticks in the fields? I realise I can't even drive to a spot and let them off to run.

Has anyone any bright ideas and experience here please.

Many thanks

Hi Marina

I have two Jack Russels and I have been warned that if they pull at all then any dog walking is out. You have the twisting and pulling and of course thats on top of having the sticks too.

Maybe others have had differnt advice but thats what my surgeon and physio said. Gives the kids some exercise at least

Are there any animal charities near you which may help? Here in Cornwall (UK) there is The Cinnamon Trust, which organises volunteers to look after pets when elderly people have to go into hospital or are recovering from illness.

How about a doggie tredmill?

Do those exist?
