i am two months post op after a partial hip replacement following a fall my doc’s response to the continuing pain is that sometimes they have to move the hip and pelvis around to get at the joint. My hip feels healed, but extreme tendon pain has not diminished.
i have in home physical therapy, but many of the exercises i cannot do because it feels like i am taking steps backward
Can anyone comment on this? Does the tendon ever heal? Does the pain ever go away?
With the corona iris ravaging our health care system, additional surgery is not an option
Oh you poor thing…I’m 6 weeks post op and have intermittent groin pain. usually if I’m overdoing it or the main one is if sitting and I reach down to perhaps scratch my ankle thus breaking the 90 ° rule.
I read that if you have that much pain relax, and stop the exercises and just…walk …walk …walk.
I did that for about 3 days and my groin pain was greatly improved. I’m very careful not to overdo the exercises.
hi
I am 3 months post op but i had my hip pinned after a bad fall. Ive had groin pain everyday since the op. My physio said it was normal due to the trauma of the surgery but she would keep an eye on it. Anyway my physio stopped as im disabled and she couldnt help me anymore. My groin pain worried me as i get a really sharp pain right up into the groin near the inner hip bone so contacted the consultant who took xrays .All i was told is the pins and whatever else they put in me hadnt moved and bone only just starting to fuse but nothing about the groin pain. I was due to see him again this week for more xrays but cancelled due to virus but is going to arrange xrays though. Have you been told its a tendon as this is what i think my pain might be as if i gently press an area near the hip bone thats where i feel a sudden sharp pain. I would have thought that by this time things would have settled down but no its just one pain after another. I sometimes think we are never told anything of what to expect and if i ask about the pain im not given an answer. Ready comments on Google only scared me so i stopped doing that now. I hope you get your pain sorted as i hope i do mine as i think this is never going to go away and its so worrying as dont want to have more surgery. Good luck with your recovery.
Thank you in my case, walking seems to aggravate it i’m also on my walker
i’m seeing my doc in two weeks. I will ask for a scan.I’m pretty sure, after looking on pictures on the internet, that it is a tendon Good luck with your recovery I’ll keep you posted on how mine goes
