How long will you have the leg brace on?

Eileen

Wendy, so sorry to hear about your set back...I'm sure you did not see that coming after 3 years!

I'm l2 weeks today and still so nervous about doing everyday things but I thought I would give myself about a year to calm my nerves....now I think we can never let our guard down, that is not to say we stop enjoying life, but I guess the lesson is we just never know what tomorrow can bring...

Hope your recent surgey does the trick and you have many more years pain free!

Hi, you will get there in time. You learn to do different things and find ways to do them with out hurting your self. I.e use your grabber to put the washing in the machine, but always if you try to bend put your op side leg  behind you. So you are not putting a strain on your hip. Imagine  some thing that pivots well stay on one leg and use the other to keep your hip and knee in a line.Good luck on that one,. Love Ro xxxx Where there is a will there is a way.

Hi Wendy, so sorry to hear that, after 3 years, you now have a problem. It certainly makes me, and I guess others reading your post, realise that we shouldn't ever take it for granted that our new hips will behave like the original one did.

I guess l will carry on using my grabber for anything that I can't easily reach and not feel guilty for doing it and I'll still be asking for help whenever I need to. I'm 16 months post op and still in great pain.

Were you in pain prior to the dislocation?

I do hope that you will soon be on the road to recovery, take care, Jay x

Oh my so sorry that happened to you. That must have been very painful.Hope you will feel better real soon hugs ginger

Thank you ginger for your message and hug hope you haven't suffered too much

Hello Wendy, I had the anterior approach for that reason.b/c dislocation is rare.

I heard of some one in the U.S. that had posterior approach after one month put her leg on a coffee table and dislocated. What approach did your father have?

I got three same feed back from friends like others have said your should be doing Better by now.Totally discount my pain and slow recovery. They didn't understand my frustration with the slow recovery.

I have to as admit this was much more painful than it was expanded to me.

I sure pray your dad will continue to heal more each day.hugs.
