Hip replacement pain

Hello new to the group I had a double hip replacement almost 2 years ago since the surgery I've been experiencing nothing but pain in the right hip and ball joint area left leg not to much pain but still some and I didn't have any back pain until after my surgery could anyone help me with some answers I feel like my life is gone

Hi Israel, sorry to hear you have problems. I have only had one hip done almost two years ago. I get pain and discomfort still and it is usually due to tight muscles or I also have a bursa that flares up now and again. In regards to back pain if you had an epidural that can sometimes give you long term pain. Sometimes just the way we are walking sets it all off.

Have you seen your surgeon recently. I would get an appointment so they can check everything out for you. Good luck

Dear Israel

I'm sorry that you are still having some pain issues. Have you considered that the hip and the hip and back the pain is linked? It is often the case.

Having suffered in a similar way I would want to rule out the back as that's easy. See a good chiropractor who will quickly work out if this is the problem and if it is should be able to put it right in a couple of consultations. Please avoid a McTimoney trained one as they do not have all the skills you may benefit from.

Please let us know if this sorts your pain issues out.

Cheers Richard

Hi I am sorry to hear this.Have you spoken to a physiotherapist? They will be able to advise you.I too am in the same position with pain with the hip that was done, but it's owing to me being a carer for my Disabled Husband, who also has mobility issues. He had a care package but the social services got annoyed with me. I know my other hip needs doing as do my knees.but I am way too tense. And suffer from Anxiety.Which hospitals seem to not understand.Regards Amanda h

Israel

Luv your name by the way ❤️❤️

My left one is in pain24/7 but the right thr is fine (3yrs ago)

I'm thinking dr damaged nerves but untill exploratory surgery we wont know

It definitely SUCKS but you hang in there. I laugh instead of crying & chant ( not your traditional) all the time because of pain !!!!

Hope your Drs can soon find & help both our problems.

It really is frustrating because there nothing we can do to fix it like a broken car or something. Depending on the dr is our only choice & God for me

Luv to all

 David

I'm going back to the surgeon to see him he did tell me at last appointment that it is normal to hurt just not everyday so I'll see what he says I can't even work I've been in so much pain

Yea I'm only 35 I've tried to work several jobs but can do it the leg pain and back pain is killing me with weight or bending idk what to do I need to support my family but can't hurt myself more trying too and thank you about my name most people like it but I usually go by Izzy

Dear Israel

You said that you also had back pain after the hip surgery as if this was something you had not had previously.

Very often back pain can cause pain to occur in other parts of one's body so please keep this in mind because the solution can be quick and not expensive.

Good luck. Richard

As I said.....

Cheers Richard

Right there with ya izzy

I'm better off than you.

It sucks I know 😡

I try to do stuff when my pain meds work but as you know they don't work always !!! I do get relief at least once a day. I can't imagine the pain in your predicament

Dr has increased my meds next month hope they help better.

I don't know how yalls systems works. But I would burn the phones up daily !! When my dr left me without my meds for _2 days ( A torture i never had experience) we email, called, messaged, voicemails all day !!!!

Me & wife called & when they finally called back I was uable to even talk to them for pain & withdrawal!!!

Burn them phones up the folk answering don't hurt so they don't hurry. If they had this they would put their butts first in law line.

So BURN the PHONES up !!

Luv to you & family

  David

Thank you Dav1953

I called him today I know it's Sunday but idc he don't even give me pain meds he knows I'm in pain and have been for almost 2 years now so I don't get why he doesn't want to help me and find out what's causing it

I thank you for your help and concern you and your family have a blessed day

hi izzy,

warm welcome to the hipppies forum ...

I am sorry too to hear about the pain you are in -

Have you considered a 2nd opinion? I am assuming that x-rays show that everything is alright -

it is possible that your back pain is caused by your body trying to regain balance and strength, so perhaps a massage can help -

do you see a physical therapist ?  someone who can help you to do exercises and walking properly?

please let us know how you are getting on ...

big warm hug
