hi just a update about. A pre-assessment I have been waiting 5years for my hip replaced see the doctor on the 13th June got my letter to go for my assessment on 21st June that to me is quick don't know how long I shall be waiting after it anyone any ideas how long it might be
I saw my surgeon on the 2nd June for my second hip replacement and am in on the 23rd might be quick as it is my second my first one was in December but from being assessed by Dr then seeing surgeon after it took about 3 months before op hope this helps but I think it is pretty different for everyone x good luck :-) xx
Hi I had my pre-op on 23rd may, I got my op date letter on 15th June and my op is booked for 23th July. Think that it varies
It's best to not wait to long. Damage to the joint can be a difficult recovery. The sooner you can set it up the better. Your dr will tell you the same thing. Once you have the THR it takes about 6 months to get thru a recovery back to normal life.
Great news! I won't comment on wait times as our experience here in Canada won't be relevant to you. l will encourage you to your ducks in a row though. Check Graham's list and check it twice!
Cheers,
Linda

Depends on where you are in the world - and if you are relying on free (UK NHS), or private treatment, and demand in your area.
From my experience only a few weeks - see my blog.
