I want to know for hip replacement surgery wich approch is the best anterior, posterior or super-path posterior .one month later i have apointment to do surgery.
It's up to your surgeon..All procedures are good. It depends on what's exactly wrong with you.
I had anterior May 2015.
I had THR last Wednesday. Anterior approach using an epidural. I can't tell you which is "better" but with the posterior they cut your buttocks. Seems to me just sitting would be more painful? The anterior cut is on top of your thigh and to me, less evasive. At any rate, I feel 100% better. The pain is gone. Just tightness at surgical site and some leg swelling issues. Ice, rest and elevating is helping. Best of luck on your procedure😀
hi haygaz,
warm welcome to the wonderful hippies forum -
there is a discussion at the moment about the same topic - maybe you want to have a look at it ....forum members share their personal stories and experiences here -
usually your OS will decide which approach will be used, depending on his experience and qualifications - not all surgeons do both -
please let us know if you have any further concerns or questions, okay
big warm hug
renee
thanks for your reply. yes it is .but in my idea the anterior is more effcient less invasive less op time short improving time precies foot hight and many more elses items.so hopefully dr do anterior.,anterior is neary new approach and and there are few m.d to know it.again thanks..
