Has anyone come down with hives as a result of taking VALACYCLOVIR HCL 500 MG on a daily basis?
Hi Jan, this is my first OB ever for herpes and taking VALACYCLOVIR and now have itching rash with no blisters on one inner thigh and now duplicated on other inner thigh. The only time I got hives all over was from taking a medication and I was allergic to it. So I would suggest this is an allergic reaction. Best of luck and healing
Thank you Debra, I've been taking the medicine for over a year now and was just wondering if anyone else had a reaction after some time of taking it.
Your welcome Jan. On the itching rash I tried Tea tree oil and it really helped the horrible itching, I also apply on genital area.

Ps, I have rash no blister and may be repeating myself but hives, blister like a big spidering on different parts of body is an allergic reaction to medicine. Benadryl helps the histamines , but at doctors or urgent care they would give you cortisone I am pretty sure that's the tiny pills you progressively take less of each of the 10 days
