Wondering how long everyone has used this med? Do you have WD after short term use. Used it before at 15mg for a month and just stopped taking it without any ill effects. Been taking for a week now and ready to chuck it.
I can't say about WD effects after short term use because I've been on meds for 6 years, but I do think a week isn't long enough to judge whether it's going to work or not. They all take a few weeks to settle in and start working. Are you desperate to get off it?
Yes Pixie, I hate the way this makes me feel (stoned 24/7). Maybe I am not depressed enough, but I can't work 12 hour shifts in a hospital after taking this. I am far too bombed during the day, and that in itself is enough to lower my mood. Would love it if my alarm didn't go off at 5 am. I am also not convinced that the withdrawl from tiny doses is worth it. There has to be a better way to get sleep. Perhaps I should also stop reading horror stories about discontinuing this med. Have to admit to not having really giving Rem enough of a chance to work, and will certainly give it another try at a time that is not so busy from a work point of view. Hope you are doing well x
I do agree we all have to make our own decisions based on circumstances. I tried slight reduction in mirtazapine but it made me very Ill after a few weeks. I had some important things coming up, so I made the decision to go back to the full dose, and try the reduction again sometime in the future. Unfortunately I still don't feel as well as I did before I tried the reduction, but that's a lesson learnt, I suppose. Pixie
