I had my TRHR on 5th May. I've been progressing fairly well except I still have burning pain at the back of my thigh and need to use a stick quite a lot of the time. Bit frustrating really. My question for you all is this: Have any of you tried getting on and off a sun lounged at 10 weeks? In my mind I can't quite see how to manage it. Does this mean that on holiday you have to sit in an upright chair all the time at the pool when on hols?
Gillian, we are lucky enough to have quite a large garden and in it we have two loungers. I'm 8 weeks today and decided to try it out. For me, it worked, but because it is fairly low, I did go slow, more or less sliding in as I went down. Not the easiest. Getting up went fairly easy using a reversed golfer's stance.
Long story short, it is doable, but no rushing and find your way that doesnt stress your hip too much.
If you feel in any way unsure, then yes, maybe try and find reclining high chairs as an alternative. Less fun, but less risk as well.
I'm a bit of a stubborn git, so I will try quickly, but most of us are less likely tto do so. Teying with someone there of course is an option too.
Hi how about asking the hotel if they have blocks to raise the dubbed?!I am just overv4months and still stiff at times.we must remember it can take 6to 12 months to get over! We all heal in different ways.regards Amanda
Oh good one!
*makes mental note to check when (if...) we arrive in Bali on Tuesday!*
As long as you can make the thing stable, there should be all sorts of ways to get the bed up some.
Options! 😀
Hi gillian ... hmmm ... nice problem eh .... I am 15 weeks post op and still find it challenging to sit or lie down on low chairs ... like am6ft8 mentions : I am sure it is doable but take it easy and be careful --- maybe you can sit in one of those reclining lounge chairs ? if they have that, of course ...
where are you going to?
take care and be kind to your self -
warm hug

Hi Renee
We are going to Bardolino on Lake Garda so I'll be getting lots of
walking too as it's a 15 minute walk along the lake to get into town luckiliy on the flat. Still have this puzzle in my head though about the sunbed. I'll have to practice at home on something low but most things are more stable then a sun lounger.

Oh, such a gorgeous place ... i was on vacation there once and remember the lake water to be so incredibly cold !!!!! yes, those loungers are really low ... almost ground level - and once you lie down, how about getting up again???? are you driving? can you take something more suitable with you?
have a wonderful afternoon ---- Wimbledon women's finals about to begin ....
