my holter monitor results said “intermittent episodes of sinus arrythmia” means?
is this something to worry about or is it common??
i meant to say can someone tell me what it means
It’s more of a diagnosis than I’ve ever gotten after three or four Holters. Is this something to worry about? Well, depends on the exact numbers, but generally when the doctors say “intermittent” they will tell you it’s not serious. Minor cases like that are common enough, though I’ve never seen actual numbers. In spite of doctors shrugging it off it can be very disconcerting, but apparently it really can go on for years without meaning anything worse than that.
You can try dietary and supplements, you can be prescribed beta blockers, of course if your weight is off, or your blood pressure, or your blood sugar, try fixing those.
Hope that helps.
There must have been a reason for your doctor to prescribe a Holter.
There are lots of types of sinus arrhythmia and they each manifest them selves differently.
Many go unnoticed and most aren’t considered serious.
I would Google sinus arrythmia symptoms. If you see yours on the list you can have a talk with your doctor.
Is it effecting your quality of life?
Will it get worse?
Are there life style changes that will help?
Do you or will you need medication?
Continue to educate your self like you are currently doing. Write down your questions, meet with your doctor.
If you aren’t satisfied ask to see a specialist.
I had the same problem and is treatable (lucky, when is not permanent), also a healthy life style must be followed. See your doctor for advice, all the best
