i have been suffering with this since 1978, i keep getting these knife feeling pains in my right side, i have been diagnoised with honeymoon cysistis, i fell on the ground and hurt my back, plus i just wondered why my urine smelled and i had urinary tract infections every time i have sex with my husband, i was thinking he was having ex martial sex with other people, but according to other gyn they claim i will not catch uti from sex, but i beg the difference, if i dont have sex i m good but when i have sex i get uti and my urethera has an abnormality.
Hi eunice91963
I think you should request your doc to refer you to a Urologist so tests can be done to establish what is going on with your waterworks....best wishes...
Infections of the bladder can be caused through having intercourse, we need to empty the bladder to help with that, but it doesnt neccessarily mean its passed on from one person to another, or he himself would have uti,s, its not really thought of as transferrible, usually other cuases, uti,s can be caused by the action of intercourse, more so if youve a problem in the urethra, bladder.maybe inflammation thats aggrevated by it,with inflammation making infections more likely and settles when not having it. So ditto Lillian, you need to see a urologist, maybe a scan or scope to see what the problem is. good luck
There have already been two good comments here. Yes, UTIs are common from sex but also are caused by inflamation, hormonal imbalances and in some cases diet/enviornment (mostly temperature to my knowledge). Definitly talk to your doc about getting tests.
