My son, now 17, was diagnosed to have Crohn's disease 2 years ago. we both agreed to have him off medication for the past year, and he was relatively ok, until he recently exhibited symptoms again. I have no clue what diet to put him on, he is depressed and feeling rather low. How does crohn's affect career path choices?? Does anyone know? We hope to have him started on helminthic therapy (hookworms) in cooperation with the university of Nottingham soon, seems promising and with no harmful side effects.. To all of you out there, patients and care givers, I wish a lot of strength, and have faith something must come up!! Have faith..
Hello,
Im sorry to hear your son has crohn's. Im a 29 year old mother of 2 & I've just been diagnosed with it. Have been suffering badly the last two years & they kept putting it down to IBS. At the moment im on steriods to try & get it into remission. Before I left the hospital I asked the doctors when I could return to work (as ive been off sice jan) & they said it could take another month. My worry is that it will keep flaring up preventing me from getting on with life as at the moment im finding it very hard to cope. Just as you enjoy a good day along comes 2 bad ones. I wish you & your son good health xx

hello there. Please buy and read the book Breaking the Vicious Cycle by Elaine Gottschall on the Amazon website. Follow the diet that she describes in the book. You'll get better. I followed that diet and was fine after just 1 year. Good luck to all of you.
