Hi there it sounds like panick attacks to me have you told your doctor about this also it could be hot flushes your having as well I've had them for ten years now started when I was 50 and I'm 60 next month and still getting them
Hello Swaran,
It sounds like you are in need of hormone replacement pills. I would go to your OB/GYN, or even better, a Endocrenologist, they will check your hormones completely, and get you on the proper tablets. No reason for you to suffer through menopause with the new medications they have now, that do not cause harm. You would feel so much better. Vitamins alone will not do the job, certain ones can help some, but won't do what the hormones can do. I wish you Good Luck!! Keep us posted as to how you are doing! {{{{HUGS}}}} Hang in There!!!
MORNING, Hi swaran , ah poor you i have been doing all this since i was 36 im now 53 , its horrible isnt it you feel totally out of control it seems impossible sometimes to cope i know ( dont panic ) what you need to do is deal with one thing at a time , i think we go into panic mode and see all this as one big thing take time out and think to deal with each problem and feeling you have this worked for me you will go round in circles if you dont . First of all try sage a high one 2500 this will help with the heat flush which in turn will help with the heart palps, start using rescue remedy the pastils or spray also kalms this will calm you a bit to help you cope with every day things, also take a good fish oil will help with memory and lift your mood also starflower oil 1000 for mood and if you can exercise even if you cant loose weight it will help with mood , i hope this helps you im hyperthyroid and i to have put on the pounds you can gain with both , i have had anxiety and depression like you then i looked at everything as a bigger picture and tried to help myself and at the moment all this that i take has calmed me down and i now work 3 days per week as a carer in the community and thats hard in itself i do have bad days but very few and far between , today i started vit c the so called experts say people with thyroid problems are low in this so i will give it a go. When we have problems with thyroid and menopause we get i worse this is both these things mixed into one no wonder you feel like hell bless you good luck and please try these things to help, take care

Hello- From what I understand about menopause, all of the symptoms you describe are menopausal symptoms. Some women experience your symptoms and some women go through their perimenopausal time without hardly any symptoms at all. I hope the multi vitamins help. Exercise may alao help the depression piece...I hope for all of our sake we can get through this stage of our lives and start feeling " normal" again.
Welcome to the (most unpopular) club!
I'm with Karen on this. Try (good quality) vits and mins first. I tried cheap, 'supermarket' supplements but they did very little. Hardly surprising, they really are rubbish. I asked the doc for HRT and it worked - for a while. Then I started bleeding again, so I stopped. My weight went up and up, even on HRT. Last Christmas I was 13 1/2 stone, 3 st overweight!
In the New Year I, and OH changed the way we ate. We have never been on a bad diet, but we cut out sugar and simple carbs (cakes, pastries and most bread). We eat organic food whenever possible, avoiding antibiotics and all the other cxxp that is in our food these days. Also a lot of seeds and nuts, flax, pumpkin, walnut, almond. We take Vits D, K2, C and B complex. I take sage leaf, probiotics and magnesium.
I won't lie, I'm not the same as I was 10 years ago and I still get the odd hot flush (more a warm glow) but I do feel a lot better and I have lost 21lbs, mostly belly fat, with very little effort!
Right I've waffled enough. Don't bother with the 'multivitamins', do some research and get good quality, single supplements. Try those before HRT and try to fix your diet first. There is a lot of unnecessary chemicals in modern food that mess with our hormones - get rid of them and I am sure you will start to feel better.
yes swaran im the same im going through anxiety and the peri so i have it double whammy have you asked about an anti depressant to help even a low dose one it helps me I also do meditation and drink chamomile tea which works for me there are lots of products in the health shops that may help and im taking black cohosh.I have only just started taking it so I won't know the effects for a couple of weeks. look up products for the menopause and hopefully you will find the right one also menapace is good I think there are about four different ones ie night ones, hot flush ones. yes my heart beat is going doolally to x hope you find some relief soon
stay away from caffeine and high sugar foods as well. are you taking evening primrose oil? you will find something that suits you my love its trail and error
Thanks everybody.Doctor told me that I need not worry because it is all related to hormones. What is more bothering is the panic attack and craving for sugar. Is this also part of menopausal symptoms.
Bobbysgirl, just jumping in to say that I appreciate your description of this as a "most unpopular" club. Good job.
Hi Swaran... for me, yes, the sugar cravings are terrible, and I do have occasional panic attacks. To be frank, I'm pretty unhappy with all these doctors and other practitioners telling us not to worry because it's "just hormones" (or any similar wording). I see that a lot of ladies here have been told that at some time.
As as far as sugar goes, I'm currently avoiding it because of a UTI, trying not to feed the bacteria causing the infection. It's very hard, but at the same time, ignoring the cravings and eating healthier foods should be helpful in many ways.
Keep posting here; you will get lots of support!
Ive experienced same symtoms since late 2013. After bloodwork revealed I'm Perimenopausal, I was relieved to learn I wasn't going crazy. I'm taking antidepressants but still not my old self. I was never educated about perimenopause and how debilitating this could be mentally. I'm taking vits too and not much relief.
Hi I'm 49 also have being feeling horrible anxiety flushes heart races like panic attacks.... its all hormones that's are fluctuating my GP put me on cilift 20mg I started with a 1/4 then half pill
first 2 weeks as body adjusts nt nice but I'm feeling better already.... just went to a talk by leading Gynae an he says no need to suffer we need HRT it protects your heart an fm osteoporosis. .....
I am so glad to hear you are feeling better Michelle!! And that doctor is RIGHT!! We DO need HRT!! That information that came out some years back was flawed information!! And of course, it scared the heck out of everyone, now they have found it is more helpful, more pros than cons for us, instead of being bad for our hearts...it's good for our hearts and for our bones!!! No need at all to suffer anymore!!! There are women in their 80's that are still on HRT, and you can bet they will not give it up!! I know I won't!
Glad to hear you have found that HRT works for you. But please note there are other ways to protect your heart and bones.
I am always very wary of doctors (and conventional medicine in general) when it 'discovers' yet ANOTHER wonderful reason for being on one of their pet medicines. Take statins - the latest cure-all. I actually think it does more harm than good.
I wish you continuing improvement.
Hiya
Just want to know what can I take to protect my heart and bones. I'm having terrible nausea in my nine years of peri so anything I take to help makes my stomach worse. Having extreme anxiety only one period last eight months. Was on an AD mittazapine for a year but cane off to see if I could cope without. Been six months now and not doing so good x
I'll do my best - without climbing on my soapbox, (I'm getting quite evangelical in my old age)
I could rattle-on for hours about the failings in modern medicine, but you don't wanttohear that.So I will PM you with a link that will help.
I would ask your doctor about a biodentical hormone, there really is no reason to suffer through now days. I know women in the UK seem to want to go natural. I am fine, and been on HRT since I was 33, and I am 61 now. I have no side effects from it what so ever. I feel fine, I look younger, and my bones are in great condition for my age, and given that I have Rheumatoid arthritis...my bones are still very strong. That alone amazes my doctors! Someone my age with RA, my bones should be pretty brittle, and they are not. Just saying. What ever you decide to do, I wish you luck! I do think you need to talk to your doctor though, and make those decisions with them.
Okay thank you x
Thank you. Only thing that worries me about hormones is the fact that I had terrible trouble all the years I was in the contraceptive pill. I'm getting desperate but not sure biodenticals are available on the nhs x
