I need your advice, please
These are my symptoms: Before I get these kind of hot flashes, my heart starts to race, then I get the warm feelings to face, neck, torso and behind mt eyes. Sometimes, it lasts more than 30 minutes, then heart palpitations, don’t forget the burning mouth, headache and funny feelings.
My DR put me on Premarin, but, 5 days later after being on it, I developed stomach cramps and several trips to the bathroom. I stopped medication without even calling the DR.
I had a total hysterectomy 10 years ago, and never experienced such bizarre symptoms in my life.
Can someone out there tell me something, please?
Thank you very much for your help.
I stopped hrt and was getting a hot flash every hr! I called the nurse and she suggested Amberen. It took about 30 days but down to 1 or2 a day now!!
Seraphine - I also can have a lot of bizarre symptoms with my Hot Flashes - and this is normal, unfortunately! They can last from 1 minute up to 1/2 hour sometimes as you describe. Your burning tongue/mouth I do not have; but Burning Mouth is listed one of the 34 symptoms website that details all of the symptoms a person can experience during perimenopause.
I started getting a LOT of peri symptoms in the last 3 months and am thankful for this group as well as all of the information I have read on perimenopause.
Side effects - it sounds like a lot of the products that a woman will try during this time is bound to have some side effects once they start; whether it's an anti-depressant, hormone replacement or natural over the counter creams. Different posts that I have read here are women sharing how awful it was to start hormones, birth control, anti-depressants or supplements, etc.
I personally started the natural over the counter progesterone cream and had very bad cramping, diarrhea etc when I first started it. As of now, I have seemed to make it through that particular side effect. I have so many symptoms with this peri stuff that I am hoping I can stay on this cream as I am noticing improvements.
I don't know anything about Premarin - but I'm sure some other wonderful women on this forum may be able to share their experience.
This transition is not easy. I had no idea that it could have so many physical and emotional challenges. Take care!
Yes this is exactly how my hot flashes are...but i dont have the burning mouth.
