Hot flushes anyone?

So my latest symptom is a really annoying one.

For the past three months I have really hot flushes out of the blue than can last from 30 minutes to hours.

They happen usually in my cheeks and neck (or lower), some times my whole head.

It is like I have a fever but I don't, like a sunburn but it's not...

Please tell me that I'm not the only one and anxiety can cause this...

Hi i get this all the time im 45 and get night sweats as well i have an underactive thyroid as well so dont know if its this that causers it or my anxiety or a mixture of both its a horrible feeling but u try to ignore it are you on any medication

Yes this condition can be caused by Anxiety, there are other causes so it may be a good idea to tak to your GP and have it confirmed

I know it could be caused by anxiety, I have GAD and im on Cipralex (lexapro) 10mg/day but I find so hard to believe some times thats its only anxiety man... I mean it's too much!

I took paraxotene for anxiety and it caused hot flashes for 3 days straight. It would come randomly after that because I feared it so much... it's anxiety unfortunately. Just trying to forget about it made it to away. One time I fought fire with fire and just went SUN bathing when I was feeling the burning skin sensation thing happening and it went away.

I have switched to Zoloft (50 mg daily) for 2 weeks but it still keeps happening..

It usually happens 1-2 hours before I go to work (security guard, nightshift) although I dont understand why, I love my job and I know I will be safe no matter what.

The thing is that everytime it happens I automatically think it's fever... I say "what if this time it's a fever and you ignore it and it gets worse".

A vicious cycle.

I get them all the time, sometimes to a point where it's painful in my face. Also frequently get them in my chest, back, neck, and every once in a while my legs. Sometimes they'll come on suddenly and are quickly followed by a panic attack. Sometimes they seem to be touch induced... like if I'm sitting in a chair with my back on the rest my back feels like it's burning. Some days even when I feel like I have a good handle on my anxiety, I still have little hot flashes to remind me it's still there. One of the more annoying symptoms of chronic anxiety.
