Hot / Red / Swollen foot seven weeks post talarnavicular arthrodesis

So, I am seven weeks removed from talarnavicular arthrodesis on my right foot. I was promoted to a CAM boot last week to begin light weight bearing activity as my physician confirmed the fusion was healing as it should and sent on my way.

over the last few days, swelling has increased, foot turns red and has been very warm to touch - almost burning - it looks and feels sunburnt - and only by the top incision area.

I sent the photo to my sister, who is a CMA at an unrelated practice, and she advised I should get checked for cellulitis.

I checked the symptoms and it fits - but, curious of others. just seems odd to happen seven weeks post surgery (one week removed from fiberglass cast).

thank you
