Curious if anyone gets this. When up and doing things around the house, vac, mopping, bending to clean like the tub, do you feel dizzy, off balance, and when looking around seems like the room is moving like in a boat? I've had this MAV and slight mdds now for 10 months and last night had a bad headache with shoulder and neck pain and off balance feeling. But when I move around with get dizzy doing house work. I also have anxiety about everything so I don't think it's helping. I'm not on any meds because the VRT is helping the dizziness some and my ENT and gp want me to see the oaychologist about the anxiety and depression.
But I am curious about the house work thing. Also do you feel dizzier in the shower?
Hello patty. I too have dizziness and off balance when doing all those things but yet to determine the cause. I had a vestibular test done last year and was normal and at end of june I am doing a rotary chair test to see if anything shows up there. Do you take any medication to help with your symptoms ? I take Zoloft for anxiety and have klonopin for when I need it and it helps with the dizziness some so that I can work.
Yes, yes,and yes. Anything that requires a lot of different motions, housework, gardening, defrosting the fridge as i've just done screws me up! The VRt does nothing for me though i d t have a showe but i dont think i'd be happy standing in one, much happer sitting in the bath. I also get neck ache after actvity. Spend my life sorting it out. I started on anti depressants recently (didnt want to a while ago but now decided to try and they have helped with the anxiety). I also get headaches but they are due to my neck, not MAV. I use a cold gel, pack around back of neck which really helps for that.
Yes! I get dizzy bending down to get something and looking up to reach things.. I think it's our Vestibular weakness... it should improve over time.. I'm hoping and I agree the VRT does really help..
Hi I've recently joined this forum.
I too get that dizzy feeling when I'm cleaning. Sometimes I think it's from my blood pressure dropping or fluctuating when I stand up.
I always have an off balance feeling though. It's been like that for years. I attributed it to taking a benzo, klonopin, for my anxiety. But I've read people posting that they take benzod for their dizziness. So now I'm wondering where my off balance feeling is really originating from. I have yet to go to ENT or any other ear specialist. I wanted to read here on the forum more and get an idea of it all before seeking medical help.
Also look at Veda, Vestibular Association on line, very good, comprehensive info on our problems
Thanks I will.
For headaches if you use cold packs check out kool tie. Just search on it and it should come up. I've used these for years. It's crystals inside that you soak in water and it keeps you cool all day. Lots of styles to match wardrobe.
Thamks,, i will, not seen them here in UK, but maybe on line elsewhere. I'd love somethng that staus cool all day!,
Definitely have the same issue. The moving, bending, up and down do not help. I try to take it slow but it's hard. Gives me anxiety thinking about it.
Found them thanks, can't wait,to get and use! Had to use my gel,one outof fridge today as head and neck all, playing up !
Do,ypunget the dizzness worse with looking downwards, especially when standing.?
It's bad when I'm cleaning the tub or doing anything where I have to hang my head forward.
Yes me too, all forward bending brings it on worse, but when i am in kitchen for eg preparing food or doing doing dishes, so looking downwards doesit too.
Ordered today,,got, the Ergodyne one as looks,a bit wider amd can use on head too!
