Did you find the 6 month spread between surgeries good timing?
How was the second one different than the first as far as recovery?
Thanks for your support!

Usually hip pain does not go down the leg to the foot. That is sciatica a nerve impingement in the back.
Its confusing as I Went thru the same pain and already had both hips done. The dr explained the difference between back pain going down the leg to foot to osteo pain in hip. Dr. put me back into therapy for herniated disc caused from degenerative arthritis lower back area.
Much better now now no pain meds. Keep doing exercises and best wishes.
So I did start taking the Ibuprofen again and it's made a world of difference. I can do more around the house and I'm good to do 2 afternoons a week back at work now without feeling drained.
I'm sleeping better and attention span is really good. My other knee has almost stopped hurting and locking and the pain is now more in the hip, which I can bear.
I think going back to work really helps mentally. Having a purpose for the day gets me going in the morning and being social at work makes me feel normal.
Feeling like I have survived the worst and the rest will be very doable! Yeah, finally!
Ooh that is great to hear CH!
I am retired and using my time to respond to consultations on several issues (site selection for one of our major hospitals that needs rebuilding and expansion; electoral reform - which, given developments in the States seems more urgent to me now; and work on a proposal to study patient/family partnerships in research. I am frustrated that some of my volunteer work is on hold but at 3 weeks post, I am still not very mobile and cannot envison taking the bus yet.
Without these activities, I would go bonkers. But I still have a hard time sitting for any length of time - I guess that keeps me moving.
Good luck.
