How can I get myself to stop having anxiety about foods

im sure i sound really dumb right now, back in 2011 I had my very first panic/anxiety attack while eating supper with my family, part of my meal contained shrimp and crab, ever since then I have been avoiding seafood even though I loved eating it because my mind makes me think something bad will happen. last night though i ate some leftover Chinese food that had shrimp in it but didn't eat any of the shrimp, is it safe to say everything is going to be fine if I eat shrimp and other seafood?

nothing in this life is 100% but the odds of you getting sick from seafood that is bought and prepared correctly are pretty low, especially if you cook it at home or go to a highly rated restaurant. . I’ve been eating it my whole life and never got sick on it. In order to have peace of mind with anything, it’s always good to be careful in what you do but not to be overly anxious about anything because then you’ll always feel miserable .

thanks for replying, i guess what i was going to say is more of a fear of allergic reaction to seafood then not being cooked properly, i find that I am looking at food labels before I will even eat it and if it contains fish or other seafood i have been avoiding it

oh i see. The allergic reactions to seafood are not real high. does anyone in your family have an allergic reaction to that?

nobody that I know of is allergic to seafood
