How can I stop an anxiety attack from kicking in?

Hi, how can I stop a panic/attack from kicking in,when I feel it starting? At this minute I'm shaking,heart is racing,crying,pacing around,feeling sick and light headed.I usually remove myself from the situation,but I cant do it this time because it's something I cant avoid. In fact the cause of it is, I've got to open a letter,off PIP,I think it's about renewing my claim,I've had it over a week, Any suggestions? I know I've got to do it but I cant Thanks

The first thing to do is get in control of your symptoms of anxiety. I highly suggest you listen to a very short but effective meditation on YouTube for panic and anxiety. She guides you through it and it brings down the heart rate and gets your breathing under control.
Search YouTube for something called stop panic attack now. Then scroll down to one called don’t panic . It is in black letters. Get comfortable and follow her instructions. i use this all the time.
after you calm down some, go ahead and open the letter because not opening it will cause more anxiety. It’s better to just face it otherwise you will feel miserable. avoiding things is worse. I hope you feel better soon!
