How can this not be herpes?

I had lesions swabbed before and have had various people at my clinic tell me that this isn't herpes. I've also had the one pcr swab which also came back negative. I am clear for all stis but how can this be anything other than herpes if I keep getting genital sores like this... The clinic said they will not swab me again and said to believe my negative result... beyond depressed over this :(
