HI Group
I hope your all doing well. I'm having another crappy day. I'll tell you I'm so fed up with this crap. I have been on the propranolol for about 3 weeks and thought it might be helping, well helps some with my anxiety, but I don't know about the dizzies, of course i'm only on 10mgs a day so not really enought to fix it, I guess.
I'm not sure whats causing what anymore!!! Frankly I don't know how anyone can tell whats doing what. I woke up with anxiety i guess, it started last night I could feel my heart beating but checking it, it was 75 beats a min. I have a doctors appt today with my gyno and I've been having bladder spasms and pain for a day or two so I am worried about that, this damn health anxiety always gets me. I'm feeling like I'm falling when I'm sitting, been having that for a coulple of weeks, so now i'm starting to think the propranolol is causing it. Or could it be the MAV, or maybe my thyroid meds, i"m also strting to wonder if the thyroid meds are causing the head and upper shoulder pain that i have almost daily. Do you see how I wonder whats causing what. I was taking magnesium daily for months and then started the propranolol and was afraid to take both so i'm wondering is that causing the worsening pains and feeling dizzy? Goodness can you see all the "what if's"? I hate anxiety and worry, it just takes over.
I sit here typing this afraid to move cuz the dizziness will get worse. Do anyone ever notice when your sitting quietly you kinda look up a bit and it feels like the room is very slowly moved some and then you get a sensation of falling? I hate this feeling.
I think I made a mistake last night I ate smoked pulled pork and baked mac and cheese and am wondering if thats not whats causing the dizzienss today, or again the anxiety?
I ask you, how is one suppose to tell the difference with so many different sensations going on? If I was to go to the GP he would say its anxeity.
I wish I could tell whats causing what. The only think i do know is, I'm so sick of it all. I just want to be like others and be normal, not having to think about dizziness all the time and waiting for the next thing that can happen. I feel like i"m being punished for something.
Thanks for listening
Hi Patty I feel for you
I have suffered from the effects of so called labrynthitis for over 2 years now and I refuse to take medication as I'm told it doesn't really help anyway....
I have bad days mostly and then some not so bad.
Have just been to the gp today about something else but also had a chat about the anxiety this thing causes me and he has referred me to the NHS physiological guys for an appointment.....
Anyway regarding what to take and what not to take, maybe it's worth coming off medication and seeing what happens? Some times they conflict with each other and make you feel worse......
Anyway, good luck.
Hope you feel better soon
Rob
Hi Patty,
Sorry You Are Having A Bad Day. I Like you I Am Do Sick Of This Crap. I went to see my ENT On Friday and after he turned me from side to side he said I Have BPPV. With the medication he put me on I now feel wobbly all over and shaky. It's almost like it triggers real bad off balance, dizziness, spinning And I Feel like I Just Got Off A tea cup ride at the park.
I do not understand any of this all I know is I am tired of it.
I have even stopped drinking my half cup of coffee three weeks ago to see if things would call down and it didn't help.
I hope your appointment goes well today and you feel better. Frustrated still not able to drive. 😨
Same here patty. Bad day today. Didnt do anything and it's beating me up. I have the same falling feeling. Cant go anywheres near comp. Looking up from reading posts, can see room moving. Had to call therapist cause she wanted a update today. Told her excercises not helping. She was hoping I tell her they where. She's about out of answers. Said call her after neuro app in 2 and a half weeks! Meanwhile keep trying to do excercises.
I don't understand this anymore.. My ENT says it will get better meantime I Feel Like Hell. And while I am waiting for the doctor to call me back about my shaking, the receptionist tells me if you need to go to E. R.. For what so they can look at me like" Oh it's her again".
With BPPV do you ever feel shaky or jittery like you have had two pots of coffee?
All medications I am taking are not helping. And the Famciclovir I am taking makes my joints ache and I Think That is what is making me shake. 😨
Hi Rob
Thanks for replying. I'm sorry your going through this craziness. None of it makes sense, the only thing for is, it is constant and tiring!!!
I've been thinking about coming off the medication. I honestly don't know what to do anymore.
I hope you feel better as well.
Patty
Hi Angie
I had an episode of BPPV about 6 weeks ago and the ENT did an eply and that helped, thank goodness.
What med did they give you? It may be to much if your shaking, like a nervousness shake. I hate meds, you never no what is going to happen. I have an appt next week with my thyroid doc and i"m going to see about changing my meds because I just have never felt good on this one and after a year on it I should feel good.
Funny you describe feel like getting off a tea cup ride, I feel like I'm on a fair ride but not spinning, just being bopped around.
I just can't understand how so many people are walking around like this and no one can figure it out. I know dizziness is complicating but this is just rediculous!!!!!
I'm sorry you can't drive, I'm good driving some anxiety but I think thats just who I am these day. I'm an anxious wreck seems all the time. Its better at the same time since starting the propranolol, and if I didn't have this dizzy crap it would all be gone.
I hope you feel better as well and thanks for chatting
Hi Patty,
What was The Procedure The Doctor did For Your BPPV?
He put me on Famcivlovir.. I am not usually so sensitive to medication but this one I think Is To Strong and my body feels real shaky and my legs feel like I have been running 25 miles. 😦
So I decided yesterday I am not taking it anymore.
How we're you feeling when you had BPPV?
On the propranolol It is 10 mg but I only take half. I told my GP that I was only taking half and she said that was okay.
Thank You For Replying And Have A Good Day 😉
Had the shakes at PT weeks ago. Told therapist about it. She made me sit down. I have had this last as long as 6 months before. Had a therapist doing stuff wrong. If you do the exercises wrong, it will make you worse. It did. Got over it in time for seasons to change again. It came back for 3 more months. It gets hard to deal with sometimes. Work is mad about it I assume. Called my boss a few times. No call back. I have docs excuses for work but it's been almost 2 months
Angie
The doctor did the eply manuever for the BPPV, then i had to wear a soft collor on my neck for 2 days, it was a pain to sleep in but it worked.
When i had the attack of the BPPV I was in the chiropractors office and I went to lay down on my right side then on my back and boy I suddenly felt like a was moving through space and the room was moving. You can usaully feel it when you roll over in bed. Before the attack I was also feeling spinning falling feeling when i would look down or bend forward.
I was only taking 5 mgs of the propranolol the first week and then went to 10mgs and it helps the anxiety a lot, I just wish it would help the dizzies to, maybe when i get more in me.
Hopefully if it was the meds causing you to feel worse, now being off of it that will go away.
Have a nice day and talk to you soon
I think I starting having the shakes because of the medication he has put me on. I decided not to take it anymore, yesterday was my last day. Yes it is hard to deal with especially when it hard to hold a cup without shaking.
Does your employer have F. I. M. L. A
If you do you should apply to keep your job protected.
Hi Waffalobill
I'm sorry your feeling badly today, I know what you mean when you know you did nothing but you wake up with this.
The falling feeling is awful isn't it? I can be propped up on the couch and wham, it hits feels like I'm going backward or even floating, it sucks!!!! I've started back on my VRT cause i made a huge mistake thinking when i started the propranolol i could slow it down, wrong answer, it was helping some then i messed it up. Its takes a few months for the VRT to actually help and it seems like its making the dizziness worse at the beginning but it did help me. Just take it slowly if you start having increased dizziness when you start each exercise, just slow it down and take you time.
I don't have a neuro doc, my ent is a neuro-otoligist so I hope thats enough, had a neuro but he messd me up so quit seeing him.
I hope you feel better.
Supposedly long as I am under a docs care they can't fire me. Law.
Started doing VRT 10 years ago. Been to therapists a bunch of times over the years. She has modified my excercises a few times. Just not working for some reason. Like one day I don't feel to bad. Next it makes up for it and I feel very bad.
Yes that's what I thought too. Companies don't like that law to much but it's not like you are choosing to not feel well either.
Hi there! The Federal Medical Leave Act protects you when you have a serious medical condition for up to16 weeks. After you have exhausted FMLA, and have no accruals such as vacation time, you are at risk of loosing your job.
I pray for a healing for all of us!!
If Propanolol work take it 3 times a day, I graduated from 10mg x3 and now take more, but wow it helps. Believe it or not take any psychological help too for stress. There are free stress courses your GP can put you on and they are wonderful to help with everyday stress. Remember if the labyrinthitis is caused by stress then find out ways to relieve it quickly. destress in everyway.
Do the visual exercises, then balance, try meditation chi kung, pilates anything.
Good luck however bad you are keep walking, however the more you challenge your dizzyness the more siestas you will require, stop and enjoy the sleeps as this too will help your body recover. I still find shopping and dishwasher hard 3 years down because you move your head so much, but wow I'm so improved its wonderful.
What would you say has been the main thing to help you DizzyJules - was it taking the Propanolol - I have been taking one 10mg per day as and when I feel I need it and it does help the off-balance for me. However, I keep wondering if I should take more per day as it calms my anxiety as well . I keep trying to do without meds but maybe i should give myself a decent amount of time on them - appreciate your advice. what would you say has helped you to get better - i worry about shopping in the town and would love to overcome this hurdle without getting so anxious about it. Do you still walk if your legs are shaky?
Hi DizzyJules
Thank you for the reply. So the propranolol has realy helped your dizziness? I've only been on 10mgs for about a month and its helping the anxiety but I'm stillhaving dizziness. I have MAV and am pretty stressed worrying about this and how i got it and if i"m ging to have it for the rest of my life. I try not to worry but its always there.
I will see my ENT tomorrow and I'm sure he will up the dose, then I may see more improvement, at least i hope so.
I saw a chinese haolistic accupressure lady who also does chi kung, wellbeing meditaion and did loads of exercises to improve balance, from private specialist physio. Medications if are helping and adviced to take them and they calm you down, why not, especially when my dizziness occurs when I'm tired and stressed. 3 years down the line usually ok but still suffer a foggy head and poor concentration but i am happy I've improved. Yes I gradually increased the Propanolol up to 40mg x3 a day over the years with destress tabs , but now on once a day 160mg, but hey life has improved. It took me a long time to increase them coz of side effects etc but they help. Strongly think if dizzyness caused by stress it will take long time to recover so try and get on a stress course x 6 free from GP or apply to Health in Mind so you can be taught about stress, ways to destress yourself. Its not the dizziness in the end, unfortunately there can be a sideeffect of longterm post anxiety and panic attacks which occaisionally can affect you more. So get out walk through it, sleep whenever need and get out and see your friends, you can travel by airplane it does not affect you either. ( I have only been on one boat for 5 mins in 3.5 years but not a massive sacrifice!) Be positive and praise what you can do now and have achieved since you first got it.
Shopping I went to internet food shopping with delivery for a bit as it would take so long and exhaust me let a one putting the food away. Hope this helps
