How do spouses handle their partners condition?

My husband has what they now beleive is meniere's.  The drop attacks have stopped but the vertigo, nausea and vomiting continue almost daily.  I have fibromyalgia and arthritis but I'm working through the pain to help him and keep things done.  I am having more trouble handling the worry about him and trying to keep upbeat so he does not get depressed.  Does anyone have any suggestions how to get through this?

Hi Rosy, I am truly understanding your position. My diagnosis now almost finalized and now I know that I do have Cervical Dizziness. As result of accident, when I moving my neck in wrong way, my spine decompressed and spinal cord touching nerve and without correct treatment, it brings to exactly same symptoms as MD. This is why I was first diagnosed as MD. My husband was always there. He was walking with me at evening, he going with me to physio therapy and aqua therapy and reminding me after this exercises. He preparing me soup in the morning. He comes to pick up me from work when I am too dizzy to drive. I know that it is not easy for him, but he gives me expiration to continue fight. The problem with my injury is that eventually, it can bring me to stroke and second accident or trauma can make me paralyzed. When he drives me in a car and someone almost crushing in to us, he getting nervous more than I am. We are trying to enjoy from every moment that we are together and we know that one day, it can be worse, but his lave make me forgot everything even if it is for moment... You husband needs you. Nausea and Vomiting can be manageable with medications, but most important it to give him hope, lave, found some hobby, do something nice together, so he will not be depressed... I hope it helps...

Thank you ludka.  We do everything together.  Even now with a broken collar bone he is doing some of the gardening.  Some days aren't so bad but when he has an attack when we plan to go somewhere or do something he gets really down.  It is funny you mention you have a problem with your neck.  My husband broke a disc at c6/7 about 20 years ago.  He had a fusion done.  He has asked every doctor we have seen if this could be part of the problem as he will get dizzy some of the times he turns his head.  They all seem to dismiss it and don't even check.  I will keep pushing them.  Now his dizzy's have different visual effects.  We were out yesterday and it started.  He said he didn't feel the things spinning or rolling this time it was like looking through a kaleidoscope.  He was seeing several images of the same thing and they were going around.  He was quite ill with this one that lasted about 2 hours.  One day at a time is all we can do.

I was having vertigo almost daily, but it has stopped after visiting a physiotherapist. Worth a try.
