I'm starting my driving lessons in a couple of days I booked them on a day I felt confident and hardly no symtoms ever since my health anxiety has been really bad chest pain severe pain inbeetweeN shoulder blades constant breathing probkems ect severe dizzyness now I don't want to cancel them it's took me 5 years to pluck the courage up to do this has anybody got any tips to help I have a feeling I'm going to get a bunch of symtoms while doing my lessons which is going to set me back a lot I know thinking like this already isn't going to help but as they started all up again after I booked them im guessing there going to stay I want to be independent get my life together as I feel the only thing I have to proud of is my children I want more from life now and I'm sick of my stay at home routine I can't lock myself away forever and getting a car would be a lot easier to start my life in the right direction has anybody got health anxiety who drives or is learning to I would be great full if you have any tips on how to control it I'm going g to buy some rescue remedy it's all natural but I'm still scared I'm going to be allergic ect 😬 I suppose my fear is having the symtoms behind a wheel and panicking and crashing because of it or something I feel in my head driving with anxoety is like drink driving but I know a lot of people do drive so would be great full thanks
I usually sing a song in my head or spark a conversation with the person who's in the car with me! If it gets really bad and you explain it to your driving instructor he'll probably understand.
Hi Steph , use the rescue remedy frequently a few days before and practice deep breathing beforehand also so you can successfully do it when you are in the car. Remember that you will be in control when you drive so if you feel funny you will be able to pull over if need be. You will be fine, the worry is worse than the actual event x

Yes, I use it most days, some days it works better than others but if you use it regularly I think it is more effective . Exercise helps too so do try and do some if you can x
