How do you get prescribed Orlistat?

Hi, I really think Orlistat will aid my weightloss, as I'm finding dieting and exercise difficult on their own. Is there a min weight or BMI? Many thanks

You get orlistat from your gp and I am sure your BMI has to be over 35 to get orlistat! What is your BMI at the moment?

Hi, thank you. My bmi is currently 37.6. Every time I go to the doctors as I'm not happy about my weight, they tell me to eat healthily and exercise. I have started with weight watchers and I am signing up to the gym this week. Is it a bit like a postcode lottery whether you get it or not? I dont think my docs will prescribe it 😐

I was put on orlistat to help me lose weight for me to have IVF treatment. My consultant put me on them. 

I fully understand how you feel, I was in the same boat as you last year, my weight seemed to come off quickly then suddenly stop and no-matter what I did i did'nt lose any more weight. 

Have you had a recent blood test? if you have a under active thyroid that won't help in trying to lose weight!! i was told i needed to take tablets everyday for my under active thyroid. Now i am finding it quite easy to lose weight!
