I am just over 3 weeks post op. I have had to stop all pain medication as it had my stomach shot. Walking longer distances. Still hate sleeping on my back. Dying to curl up on my side lol.
How is everyone ?

Dear Sandra,
I am 7 weeks post op and still find it difficult to curl up!!! have managed to get on my side just...
I am still taking an extra nap in the daytime, due to broken sleep and find I put lots of pillows and cushions behind me, sleep basically sitting up...
Now no longer have anything under the legs in bed but keep a pillow to hand as find that I use it for turning over
Not long now and you will be able to turn and curl as much as you like.
Two and a half weeks post 2nd thr (first in Feb) and doing pretty well thank you. Like you, I have stopped the hydromorphone - stomach issues. I use acetaminophen extended release which seems to help and is easier to tolerate for me.
I had had my first physio session this week and was a little surprised (and disappointed) that she discouraged ome of the exercises I had started from my last surgery. But my surgeon is quite cautious due to bad osteo, so wants only partial weight-bearing to 6 weeks.
Am I the only one challenged to interpret this when walking? I am to continue using a walker and bear weight through my hands - grrhhh. I feel pretty good and everything inside me is suggesting walking through my heel-toe per last recovery. Oh well - if this is the worst I have to contend with (oops, so or for dangling whatever) 😊😄.
Sleeping on my back is easier this time (yes, Rocketman - you were right).
But looking forward to a 'proper' sleep someday!
It is good to hear how well you are doing Sandra - I'm trying to get more walking in, but getting down the stairs to our driveway on my own still intimidates me and managing both cane and walker on them feels challenging.
Take care,
L
hi sandra,
well you know that 3 weeks is early in recovery, right ?
I was allowed to sleep on unoperated side while still in hospital - was shown how to put pillow between knees and roll over etc ...
how are you doing otherwise ?
big warm hug
