I might just be super paranoid right now but I was diagnosed with hsv1 genitally 2 months ago. I had unprotected sex last night with a partner who I disclosed to. I went down on him after we had unprotected sex but I was hesitant because of the direct contact with my vagina. I woke up this morning and have a cankersore in the inside of my lip, I’m being paranoid now and convincing myself I gave myself oral herpes. How likely is this? I’m currently on suppressive therapy and take daily valtrex and wasn’t having an outbreak. I know it’s possible to spread it from genitals to mouth since hsv1 favors the mouth area but I’m not sure how likely it could be spread from his penis to my mouth? It’s totally possible I just got a cankersore but rough oral sex. Any comments would be helpful. Thank you 🙏🏼

No he doesn't have herpes. I was more afraid my fluids could have transferred to my mouth after we had sex.
Yes! It's possible. 40% of new HSV1 cases are of the genitals. Usually from oral sex when the virus is shedding or a coldsore is present.
I dont know what the problem is with your mouth. However it wont be your own HSV1. You will have antibodies to HSV1 following your genital infection. This makes you immune from getting re-infected at a different site.
It is a far possibility. But not an impossible. Cut it short and swab your mouth.
