It has been two months since i had an encounter. We used protection but before then we rubbed our genitals together. How long do i have to wait to see if i have herpes? I have not had blisters or flu symptoms, is it safe to say I don’t have it? Please someone answer, I am panicking. I asked my doctor but she said not to worry about it if I did not see any sores on the other person.
Your doctor is wrong! Most hsv is spread through viral shedding! Most people with herpes have no symptoms or symptoms that they would pass for something else and dont even know they have it! This is how it spreads! The majority of people that know they have herpes would never have sex if they had a out break! Personally for me if i get a outbreak the blister is so tiny youd never see it if you didnt know i had it! Not everyone gets outbreaks and herpes is individual to that persons body and their immune system!
Usually if you are going to have an outbreak it would be 2-21 days after exposure! But just because you dont have any symptoms doesnt mean you dont have hsv1 or hsv2! The only way to find out is to get a full std screen and ask for herpes to be included! Clinics dont usually test for it as it is not life threating and not a big deal in the medical world!

If I had gotten symptoms, would they start off around my penis? or elsewhere? Also, would having a skin incision/surgery be the type of thing that can trigger an outbreak? Something popped up recently where i had a lipoma removed from my back and i do not know if its just irritation caused by the covering or something else. It itched before i took it off. Now it only feels uncomfortable if something presses on it. I wont see my doctor till next week. I can take a picture if you’ll look at it, it doesn’t look like a blister.
if it is genital then yes! usually you get symptoms around the boxer short area! surgery or trauma to this area could lead to an outbreak! or being generally run down post a procedure!
i wouldnt say that the lipoma removable would cause a genital outbreak but if you were immunosupressed then maybe!
