How long does new hip last?

Hi,
my hip is coming up to its second birthday and its wonderful having my life back.
I’m curious to know whats the longest anyone has gone before needing revision.
i was told my new hip should last 15-20 years and i was wondering how accurate this is.

my SURGEON WITH 45 years experience said around 20 years but it depends on how you treat in

certainly around 20 years is the general opinion There was an item on our local news recently about a man who had one over 30 years ago . He was still dancing

Mine was 10 last year. A bloke i know has one double that age.

Sounds about right 15-20 years depending how you treat it. Of course hips going in now may last a little longer as they use more modern technology, but we don’t yet know.

my surgeon said the hips should last 20 years unless you’re not behaving lol
ill keep you posted im happy to hear yours is doing fantastic

Had my first one done at 48, and I’m 63 now, with no issues.
