How long for increase dose to take effect?

Hi guys,

Im going through bad patch of depression and my doc decided to increase my escitalopram/cipralex from 15mg to 20mg to see if it helps. Its been 8 days now and i dont feel any better (just side effects- sleepy, upset stomach and bit more anxiety). My question is how long does it usually take for an increase in dosage to work? Ive been on this medication for almost 6 years now.

Hi. It may take a couple of weeks to make an effect. It is also normal to get worse initially. If you are concerned speak to Your Dr for some reassurance

About two weeks, possibly.
