Hi!
Im off zoloft since 10 days.
On one side , Im happy cause I was soo scared to stop antidepressants. I have been on them for 11 years and the last 2 years, I had several med changes without success. Just soo many side effects.
So psychiatrist ask me to go off my 25mg zoloft .
Of course its hard and I have lots of symptoms…foggy brain, some palpitations or extrasystoles, anxiety, crying spell, feel low, poor energy, not hungry, shaky sometimes… When I read over the internet its quite normal.
But today I just felt like calling my psychiatrist for reassurance… Well, can you imagine that she was almost suprise that I had symptoms and to her, a withdrawal just last 3 to 5 days. She only said that effexor, paxil and some psychotropes can cause withdrawal but not zoloft. To her, if I feel like that its my original issue. Really??? Maybe it will by I just thought if they all think that way, its not a surprise people get on med for life! I told her to take a go look on forum and check with reality about what a withdrawal is
Her suggestion was for me to reinstate zoloft every 2 days. I decline… I have go through 10 days and I just want to resist going back and try to go natural, by exercices, etc.
I still take clonazepam…its kind of weird cause now that I am antidepressants free, its like if my body feels more affect by benzo…i feel more low and foggy…Dont know if that can be. After I settle, I will definitly taper that really slow… I only take about 0.25mg0.25mg per day since a year an half but my system is really sensitive to med.
So…I would love to her from your withdrawing and if what I feel is “normal” for the situation?
What helped you?
I already have been in the topic about withdrawal but would like fresh infos.
