Hi All, i know they say most first outbreaks last around 2 weeks but im just wondering at what point does the pain start to subside a bit? im on day 8 of my first outbreak and day 3 of antivirals and the pain has yet to let up AT ALL. Im guessing its different for some people, but any info is greatfully received.
Hi! i had a question, I’m not diagonsed with gential herpes but i did want to know if you would mind telling me how your first intial outbreak was? and also did you sores/rashes/ or any signs to where you knew it was herpes?
hey! im currently still experiencing my first outbreak and its almost gone (within a week). Luckily I had gone to urgent care as soon as I saw my first ulcer. About 3 days into my outbreak I had them popped (for lab testing) which helped the healing process. I wouldnt reccommend popping them on your own. This could cause more pain. I started the antiviral that same morning and noticed a difference that night. My antiviral says to stay away from ibuprofen for pain as it can cause damage to your kidneys when mixed. Ive read alot about people applying diluted tea tree oil but for me this made me more irritated and the ulcers burned. Anything i put topically causes me irritation. Ive also looked into vitamins that can help boost your immune system to help relive outbreaks, i bought some of them today so I cant say if ive seen a difference. Hot baths, warm compress (heating pad or medical water bottle), and ice packs can help relive any pain as well. I hope your pain subsides soon!
Hi, this is my first one and im still in it. Im not officially diagnosed either as ive had a temperature so i cant go into the clinic. Its been pretty severe. I had no idea until i saw the sores about 3 days in. Up to that point i thought i had a uti. I wish! Im on day 9 of the outbreak and thank god, i think the pain is finally starting to ease off a little bit. The pain has been a level 10/10 from start to finish. And im pretty good with pain. But its been horrific. I got the antivirals too late for it to of stopped it. I already had sores for 24 hours by then.
Thank you. Im on day 9 now and ive been doing all of the above but i think i just started the antivirals too late. The key is definately getting to it quickly. Which i didnt because i was too scared to get it confirmed. I think its finally letting up a bit now thank god. At least i know now, dont hang around if there is a next time!
Did you have any other symptoms? Thigh and leg pain? i get cold sores and already on antibotics for them, but im paranoid about having gential. ive been having a fever off and on for about a week and pain in legs and thighs for about two. No bumps, no lesions, no nothing. but im scared and paranoid because i know fever and leg pain is a symptom but ive had it for two weeks and no blisters.
Funny you should say that because the last couple of days ive been getting pains in my thighs. Ive had this for 10/11 days now but leg pain only started the last couple of days. Its not really painful like the sores are. More just uncomfortable.
