Have been on citroplan for 1 mth a 10mg not sure how long to leave it to increase to 20 mg if i need it, the nurse said i could but scared of side effects again , does this put you back at the start again,or should i leave it for a bit longer.

It doesn't matter how long you leave it, increasing the dose will give you side effects again. It might not be as bad as the beginning, as we all differ. How about increasing it to 15mg every other day and eventually moving upping it to every day, and then doing the same for 20mg. It might help lessen the side effects.
When I first took this medicine, I was put straight onto 20mg. I found the side effects unpleasant but getting through them the eventual benefits far outweight all of that.

Monday, I increased from 10mg to 20mg on my Doctors advice. Re side effects I have not really had any major ones from when I first started 14 days ago. Mind you I had a stinking cold at the time and felt like crap so, it may have screened them I guess.
I take my cita around 15:00 each day I feel a little freaky afterwards for an hour or so, sometimes I have buzzing in me ears (I had a lot of this before being put on sick leave due to work related stress) I do not have buzzing any other time. Have found that since the increase I feel a little freakier (spaced), but in touch with reality (I am assured) sometimes talkative and get the munchies!!! By the way I am taking no other meds prescribed or otherwise!
I may just be lucky that as it is working I don't suffer the side effects too much. It is still early days and I guess they may be waiting round the corner. Cita is gradually sorting me head out I feel and I hope the increase continues this. I shall keep you and everyone updated as the days go by.

Thank you for your reply, im not sure if 10mg will be enough as i have compulsive thinking caused by the menopause, i have had one or two good days followed by bad. The nurse said is up to me to increase if i want too. x

Hi Bernieh...just thought I d say what my gp said.... 10 mg is not really expected to help people at all.. They only start people off on 10mg to ease the side effects.. I expect there are people that will say 10mg have worked and that's good!..also maybe it depends what you are taking them for. Thought I d say in case you don't feel benefit from 10 mg. if you got through the side effects without too much problem on 10 mgs then I expect it would be the same on 20mg,maybe do it gradually on do 15mgs?..xx
