hello everyone! I was just diagnosed two weeks ago and went through my first outbreak. How often are the reoccurring outbreaks?
hello this may be personal but did your outbreak look like this im trying to figure out is this is herpes or my HS

Hi! To be honest, I was diagnosed in January and I get them every month with my period. It’s funny cause now that I have accepted the herpes, the outbreaks do not bother me too much. They are uncomfortable, but I’ve already adapted the “oh well” mindset, which really helps.
Just last month, I stocked up on valtrex, and I plan on taking it right before my period to avoid outbreaks and I would suggest doing the same because although the outbreaks are no big deal, the valtrex takes it away within 24 hours.
the outbreaks are having crazy frequencies, the longest span I had was 6 months, the lowest span was 4 days.
Some people do not have any recurrent outbreaks and some have 2 or 3 per year and some can have up to 14 per year.
there is no rule to judge ur outbreak frequency however you can talk to ur physician and he can perscribe u valtrex 500 mg daily for one year which is called supressive therapy and will minimize the number of outbreaks or eliminate them for years.
