so once again my anxiety is at it again. My dumb self stumbled across a online article saying that you can die in your sleep. I tried to tell myself that it isn't true because it was all a list of diseases and disorders, and i have no health conditions or disorders, i'm changing my diet, my family history has no diseases regarding sleep and yesterday i went to the doctors. They checked my pulse and they listened to my heart and lungs and they said that everything was okay. Honestly guys i really don't know what to do anymore, i really don't. I try to tell myself that everything will be okay and i do my therapy, but its just so hard because i feel stuck. What can i do to calm my anxiety? And how rare is it to die in your sleep?
u nless you have some severe heart condition, , you wont die in your sleep.
blood pressure and heart rate decrease when asleep, which greatly decreases the chance of anything happening.
if u are in good health, u dont have to worry.
Dont read this stuff online. some sources arent reliable. u will only scare yourself for no reason and increase anxiety.
plus u can make yourself sick. get counseling to learn how to stop this .
people who die in their sleep already have chronic conditions or they are very old and its their time. please relax.

Don’t even think about such, is not an issue to discuss. Stay away from hard drugs, there are one reason many people die in their sleep.

It is an unfortunate fact of life that if you are born, then you will die … presently … though I imagine that will change in the next 500 years. As a younger person like yourself, then one’s body re-creates itself every few months as cells die and are constantly renewed … When like myself one is over 50 yr old, then that process pretty much stops and you start to slide toward death as one’s body simply wears out. Old age is a clinical disease; the cure to which is in our DNA.
20+ years ago now I used to own an HGV driver training company … Some of the students would get very confused by how they should navigate road roundabout junctions … “What about this one or that one?” and so forth they would ask. As I said to them, there is only one set of driving rules for using a roundabout … So you fit the roundabouts into the rules, not the rules to the individual roundabouts.
Obviously your issue here is your anxiety levels; not heart attacks or a million other ways to die … You can go through each and every one of those but the result will always be the same. A result which cannot be stopped. When they say on the TV news “…and saved 107 lives!” that is not true, it is 100 lives maintained … No one can save lives, only maintain life until at some point the inevitable happens.
What you need to do is cure your anxiety, obviously.
That anxiety was unleashed in your childhood … One day you went from being potentially anxious to full blown anxiety … Somehow you need to think about that and isolate the single occasion because there is always one … Not a whole load of issues like a bunch of grapes … Just one that all else flows from … Then you need professional psychological counselling to help you resolve those feelings which are now held so deep inside you and are protected by layer upon layer of anxieties.
Right now, you are apparently 18 yr old, so young enough to make some reasonable headway and deal with that issue … That will not be the case in another decade or so, when your anxieties will be firmly entrenched in your psyche.
All good fortune to you. Please, do not waste your life doing this. Life is too precious and too short.
P.S Dying in one’s sleep must be one of the very best ways to go IMO … One second you’re here, the next you’re gone … and you didn’t even know it … Seriously, how fantastic is that.
