How reassured would you be if you've been told that your heart is healthy ?

Okay so, I am constantly worried about my heart, as my pulse is high most of the time although while sleeping it is pretty normal (had 48h monitoring). It is around 100’s and while I am more quiet it drops to 60–80s. During my deepest sleep it showed that it dropped to 39 or 40 bpm. It feels like I have a fear inside me and even my fingers are like shaky a little bit (not really noticeable). Okay so, I am a 22 years old male. Went to the best cardiologist here and had EKG done, ECHODIAGRAM, had a STRESS TEST, and had a 48h monitoring. Had complete blood work done, had thyroids checked and hormones checked, had an X-RAY of the chest area, and had everything ruled out. The cardiologist told me that I have a higher chance of dying while going outside the clinic and getting hit by a car than from a heart attack. He blamed my anxiety for this and told me that it’s even normal for someone to have a natural higher heart rate and it wouldn’t cause any harm. Should I believe him, and if so how do I move on to live without worrying and checking my heart rate 24/7?

Your pulse is probably high from anxiety and worrying about your heart. The tests came back clean and you are still worrying about you heart. Welcome to the world of anxiety sufferers. We all do it. Worry about the slightest thing that goes wrong, with our bodies and in our lives. You are not alone. Your heart will be fine and you are not going to die yet you continue to think something bad is going to happen, that my friend is a classic sign of anxiety. Look, you can waste your time worrying about something you really have no control over or you can just keep an eye on your pulse and go about your life. What you need to do is find some way to distract your brain from worrying about it. Go out, find something to do, get your heart off your mind. Sing a song in your head, go for a ride in the country and see the cows and horses and all mother nature has to offer. Read a book, take up a hobby, build something, anything to take your mind off and keep it off your heart. Nothing wrong with checking your pulse every now and then but stop looking for things wrong with yourself. You are a strong healthy individual who deserves more than to worry all the time. Life is worth living and we are only put on this earth for a short time, so start living your life without the worry. Doctor said you’re fine, so thats a good thing, he would not lie to you. So get busy living

please believe him! He knows what he’s talking about. You are allowing negative and fearful thoughts to take over your life.
get busy with life and stay busy! You are a young healthy man, please don’t waste your life because you will regret it when you get older.
if you are unable to manage your anxiety, please speak with a counselor who can help you with this.
you are looking for things to be wrong with yourself. It’s a complete waste of time and your life. Your heart is fine. Rapid heart rate is due to anxiety and you’re going to make it worse by constantly checking it. Take care

at my last cardio visit, i wrote on my discharge papers “the dr told me my heart is fine, so my heart is fine :)”
now whenever i feel symptoms i just recite that in my head.
ive gone to several different ERs and i have seen different cardiologist. they all cant possibly be lying to me so if they all say im fine, then im fine.

Good for you Danielle! You’re not allowing negative thoughts to control you. The more you do that the more your brain will stay positive!
