I looked on the boots website and they can get your prescription from the gp for you! Is it that simple? Will I still need to put into writing to get a repeat prescription or will the pharmacy do that for me?

It's not just Boots, other brands make this service available as well. The way in which it works is that a GP sends your prescription electronically to a designated pharmacy. You need to make a declaration first by filling in a form in the pharmacy which you want to designate. Once you do it, it's up to the GP what kind of scripts does he/she send.
Mind that this service (as far as I know - correct me if I'm wrong!) is currently available in England and Wales only.

Hi Kerry, Once its set up its very easy & a lot of chemists already use the system, you can also book appts online. Go to your local chemist and if they use the system they will tell you how to set it up.
